THOUSANDS of people - many dressed from the period - stepped back to the wartime era for Severn Valley Railway's 1940s extravaganza at the weekend.
The annual event has become so popular over the years organisers now lay on an extra weekend to accommodate all those wanting to join in the nostalgia - and so passengers can do it all over again this Saturday and Sunday.
Visitors are treated a variety of 1940s-themed events, including a dramatic enactment of Nazi paratroopers' attempts to kidnap Winston Churchill.
Both Bewdley and Kidderminster stations will again feature shows like firefighting displays and vintage plane flyovers.
The first train leaves Kidd-erminster at 9.45am each day.
