At the June meeting G Tilson gave a talk on Budgies, showing how he prepares birds for shows.
The most practical method is to take hold of the bird firmly, but gently and work a lather of warm, soapy water into the plumage with a small brush.
This will loosen the feather and dirt and after two or three rinses in clean, warm water the bird will be clean.
The best time to do this is four days before a show and should be in the morning, as this gives the bird time to dry before going to roost for the night.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday at the RAOB Club, Scott's Road, Stourbridge, when a panel will answer questions. The meeting starts at 8pm.
