Mike Dunn presented Michael's Music Miscellany number 2 on June 21 and began his programme of recorded music with Karelia Suite by Sibelius, played by the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Eugene Ormandy.
Next came Elgar's Sea Pictures, sung by Linda Finnie, and bringing the first half of the programme to a close was Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin, played by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Claudio Abbado.
The second half comprised Schumann's Piano Quintet op 44, played by the Budapest String Quintet, featuring Rudolph Serkin on piano. The evening ended with Wilhelm Kempff's performance of Beethoven's Piano Sonata no 32 in C Minor op 111.
Tomorrow evening Mike Crump of the Dvorak Society will be the guest presenter with a programme of recorded music entitled God's Warriors which will include music by other Czech composers.
Visitors will be welcome at Holy Innocents Community Hall, Kidderminster.
The event begins at 7.30pm.
