A SHETLAND pony owned by a Wickhamford woman is on its way to Olympia.
Claylands Captain, a 12-year-old, qualified for the pre-Christmas show at the London venue by winning the Shetland Grand National at the recent Three Counties Countryside Show.
The pony is owned by Sue Bearcroft, of Ropers farm, Wickhamford, but is ridden by Chipping Campden schoolgirl, Lucy Bent, aged 11.
The Three Counties race over 12 fences was the final stage in a long series of events in which Lucy and Claylands Captain have had to demonstrate their abilities in skills, such as dressage and showjumping to qualify for Olympia.
