GARDENING CLUB: The June meeting of the Gardening Club encompassed a very successful visit to the gardens at Luggers Hall, Springfield Lane, Broadway.
The owners Kay and Red Haslam were on hand and the club members marvelled at their enterprise that has created these award-winning gardens in only seven years.
The Koi pool was particularly interesting and revealed alongside it a small cabin from which teas and home-made cake was served. A large selection of plants was also on sale and most members left with bags bulging of new varieties with which to enhance their own plots.
Some members elongated their evening with a glass of wine at the Crown and Trumpet.
The next meeting of the club will take place at the village hall, Wickhamford, on Wednesday July, 24 and includes a talk on penstemons. New members are always welcome, contact the Chairman Colin Hill on 01386 853412.
