MATTHEW Clarke argues that "monarchy, aristocracy and democracy is the most Biblical form of government" and suggests that Christianity teaches that not all men and women are equal to each other.
I would ask Mr Clarke to look at documents such as the Black Report and the current Inequalities in Health document published by the Government, both of which provide evidence of the vast inequalities in the health and well-being of people in our society, demonstrating the link between poverty and ill health.
Does Mr Clarke really think that God would actively approve of the idea that two babies that are born at the same time can each expect entirely different health and life opportunities due to their family's employment and financial status?
I thought this was supposed to be a just and fair God.
The days of the aristocracy are numbered Mr Clarke, and we should all thank God for that. The only way to eradicate poverty is to redistribute the wealth in this world of plenty.
