PERSHORE Tennis Centre's links with their counterparts in Germany from the Grnweiss Reichswalde Tennisverein were strengthened when five members from the club, situated in Worcester's twin-town of Kleve, spent a long weekend in Pershore.
In addition, to tourn-aments at Pershore and Malvern, the German players sampled two hours of golf coaching at the Vale Golf Club and a traditional night out at an Indian curry house.
The following day included a two-hour walk up Bredon Hill, lunch at the Three Kings in Hanley Swan, where veteran Pershore member, Sheila Roberts, is landlady, and a traditional Vale asparagus supper at the Star Inn to round off a busy weekend.
The Germans, who were staying with Pershore Tennis Centre members, were most impressed by the varied scenery and fascinating range of architecture they encountered on their brief visit.
They returned to Kleve with ideas for the future which could also involve junior tournaments.
