A PERSHORE-based company has cause for celebration after a year of success with a leading yachting company.

Accura Geneva has hailed as a great success its partnership with Ocean Yacht Systems, which manufactures rigging and hydraulic systems for super-yachts, which are 100 feet or more from bow to stern.

Ocean Yacht systems turned to the machine shop expertise of Accura Geneva, who are on the Keytec Business Park, to provide the necessary accuracy in gun drilling and boring.

The new range of hydraulic pumps, panels and other easily-serviceable equipment aids the growing market of super-yachts around the world.

"Because these yachts are at the top end of the market, and given the exacting conditions in which they operate, it is important that accuracy in manufacture and a high consistency of quality across all components is achieved," said Wayne Shatwell, commercial director at Ocean Yacht systems.

Success during the first project, a 50-metre vessel built in Italy, has meant Accura now supplies cylinders for all Ocean Yacht Systems hydraulic projects.

Mr Shatwell added that a competitive price structure by Accura Geneva initially attracted the business.

Exciting

Keith Jones, managing director of Accura Geneva, said the last year had been an exciting one for the company.

"Being part of such incredible yacht building is extremely exciting," he said. "From the start we were keen to work with Ocean Yacht systems."

He added that as a result of the additional business, the company was able to invest further, and are committed to continuing a happy and productive working relationship.

"Our investment in a polishing bay is testimony to the long-term commitment we are prepared to make with Ocean Yacht Systems."
