THE anger and disappointment felt by Fladbury Parish Council concerning their County Councillor Liz Eyre is easy to understand.

Sadly there seems to be a lack of loyalty, at county and district level, to the villages which they are meant to represent.

The best intentions disappear once they are round the table and the hidden agendas slide into view.

Despite a strong majority wanting to have the eastern approach down the High Street kept open when our bypass was built, our county councillor at the time John Cole, consistently ignored this.

It took at least a couple of years for the village to recover from this road closure, we were not helped by the abysmal signs off the bypass. We have no hope of getting a crossing on Leamington Road, where traffic has increased, and in fact were it not for a determined campaign by parents and staff at St Mary's Primary School, the County Council would have axed our lollipop lady.

So don't hold your breath Fladbury on vague promises for future actions to alleviate matters.

There is too much emphasis on party politics at both county and district level and not enough awareness of the repercussions of decisions taken.
