COLWALL Cricket Club will be hoping to progress in the National Village Championship knockout on Sunday (July 7) when they entertain Northampton-shire champions Isham at Stowe Lane.
Worcestershire, Herefordshire & Powys group champions for the ninth time, Colwall face Isham in a repeat of the first national round last year when Colwall won at Isham by one wicket with the home side posting 145-9 and Colwall winning on 146-9.
Isham (177-9) defeated Gretton (163-9) in their area final and Colwall (252-8) comfortably saw off Brockhampton (120) in their area final.
In their quest for a Lord's final, Colwall have reached the national semi-final in 1991 and have been defeated quarter-finalists in 1990 and the last two seasons.
Colwall captain Dave Sutton said: "It was a close game with Isham last year but we made it closer than it should have been. We are a bit stronger this year and with home advantage I am confident that we will go through."
The 40-over match is due to start at 2.30pm.
