NOMADS Sunday Seconds crashed to a resounding defeat at the hands of visiting Wellesbourne.

WORCESTER NOMADS II v WELLESBOURNE

Chasing a total of 208-2, thanks largely to Jarrett's unbeaten 115, Nomads were never in the chase. Earlier Paul Ranscombe was certainly the pick of the home bowlers, with an excellent spell of 2-27 from 11 overs, beating the bat on a number of occasions.

Light rain made conditions difficult, and Wellesbourne were able to capitalise, taking 110 runs off the last 12 overs.

In reply Barney Akhtar and Dean Spiers looked in touch before both fell to sharp catches. The only question really was whether Nomads could hang on for a draw, but thanks to Evans with 4-29 and Stephenson 5-21, it wasn't to be.
