MAGGOT racing, a model truck driving challenge and a personal appearance from 'Cher' will be taking place at the Friends of Upton Primary School's summer barbecue tomorrow (Saturday).
Fifteen-year-old Amy Storrock, who will be marshalling the wriggly racers (donated by G Shinn of Old Street), got the idea from a fair in Cheshire.
The barbecue, which starts at 5pm, is being organised to raise funds for refurbishment of the school's outdoor environment.
Prizes varying from a five litres of motor oil to a taxi voucher to Worcester have been donated by businesses from the town and surrounding area to tempt people to buy tickets for the grand prize draw.
Top of the bill are two concerts by Catherine Marie Carter as Cher, the first at 6.45pm and the second at 8.15pm.
Children's games and stalls, plate smashing and the chance to throw wet sponges at friends group chairman Rupert Chambers will also be available.
