I totally agree with your front page comment regarding the future of Malvern Theatres (Malvern Gazette, June 21).
This region is so very fortunate to have such an attractive complex, beautifully positioned and offering top rate theatre with famous star names and a wide range of musical concerts and events for all tastes. The run of Malvern productions is on a par with Windsor, Guildford, Richmond, Woking, Chichester, Bath, etc. We are so lucky to have this facility on our doorstep.
If you lived in the south/south west region of 'wealthy' Dorset, you would be forced to travel huge distances to reach any 'significant theatre'. In the large radius between Lyme Regis and Dorchester and up to Somerset amazingly there is no 'proper' local theatre offering the touring professional productions we get in Malvern.
My many theatre-going friends and I will certainly attend the public debate; the continuance of the theatre in its present successful format is crucial.
