HAVING twice in recent issues bemoaned his failure to keep fellow Lib-Dems on board, it is clear that Clive Smith is piqued at their disloyalty.
He may be correct in claiming credit for the council he led for making Malvern the second most desirable place in which to live, but fails to mention the part he played to that end in the masterly speedy dispersal of the Malvern Millions.
In spending mode, Clive may be best remembered for the sculpture on Belle Vue Terrace. To assuage his discontent, may I suggest a plate be commissioned to mark his work, bearing the legend 'In Gratitude to Councillor Clive Smith the taxpayers of Malvern have fixed this plaque to the Great Slab, perhaps his Crowning Achievement, and possibly a joy for ever'.
OLIVER LEVER, Back Lane, Malvern.
