LUCKY Evesham punter Hayley West picked a winner with her outfit for a day at Worcester Races - she walked away with the top prize of Best Dressed Lady.
The 33-year-old, who works in accounts at Robert Stern BMW in Springfield Drive, Evesham, thought she might have more than an outside shot when she put on her striking green trouser suit.
"Ten of us went from work and we all dressed up for the occasion. A lot of ladies had done the same but we still stood out in the crowd," said Hayley, of Cheltenham Road, Evesham. "People were calling out to us that it wasn't Ascot but I don't think we would have looked out of place there."
Hayley caught the eye of the Ladies Day judges at Pitchcroft with the outfit she had put together for her six-month-old daughter Emily's christening next Sunday.
Her choice of a green Michaela Louisa trouser suit, bought in Tewkesbury and crowned with a Frank Usher hat borrowed from her mother-in-law, won her a bouquet of flowers.
She also enjoyed the honour of presenting the prize for the 4.30 Best Dressed Lady's race to champion jockey, Tony McCoy.
Not only that but she had picked his horse to win and also backed the biggest winner on the card - at 20-1.
"It was a fantastic day out," she said.
