RESIDENTS in part of Malvern Link who have had to put up with water supply problems for months should see an improvement today (Friday)
Those in Redland Road and Redland Close have suffered low water pressure every morning since last December.
Some have had to carry hot water upstairs in pots in order to wash, according to resident Terry Warneford.
He says Severn Trent has no proper procedures in place to deal with the situation and cites other water problems which have occurred in Malvern over recent weeks.
"This must call into question Severn Trent's suitability as a supplier of an essential product," he said.
Caroline Hosie, for Severn Trent, said engineers had been out this week working on the problem.
She said: "We've tracked it down to a pressure valve which is not working as it should be.
"It's taken a long time and we appreciate what people have had to put up with. But we had to make sure we got it right because if we didn't, it could cause problems elsewhere."
The engineers were due to bypass the faulty valve last night (Thursday) to restore the pressure.
Severn Trent has also come under fire from St Andrew's Road resident Mary Thomas, who had her water supply cut off because of a burst water main on Wednesday, June 26.
In a letter to the company's customer services department, Mrs Thomas said the firm did not give any "warning, explanation or apology" for the incident.
She said it took 25 minutes on the phone to speak to a person being rather than an answering machine and described a workman's attitude as "rude and tactless".
