I AM sorry Mr Harris (Your Letters, June 28) took umbrage at my letter about dog dirt. I do not own a dog but I do recognise how useful and companionable they can be. I felt the endless repetitive, tiresome letters by the dog dirt brigade missed important issues. No doubt Mr Harris would find dog dirt trivial if he had his shop window broken and vomit, needles and cans to clear up from the pavement outside after Saturday night revelries.
Making Malvern a safer place where elderly people can walk home in the dark from the theatre, shop owners who hope they won't find their windows smashed, surely this is more important than dog dirt?
I'm glad legislation is to be introduced for dogs. It used to be called the dog licence and cost 7/6d in old money until it was abolished. We all have our priorities and mine is for a safer place for everyone living in Malvern.
