best-selling writer and travel show presenter Pete McCarthy is appearing at Worcester's Huntingdon Hall next week.
The author of McCarthy's Bar, which sold more than 500,000 copies in less than a year, is bringing his award-winning brand of humour to the Worcester venue on Wednesday (July 10).
His fame as a TV and radio travel show presenter followed a distinguished career in comedy, first as a scriptwriter for Mel Smith and Griff Rhys-Jones, then as a compere at London's Comedy Store. He also toured Britain and Australia in a two-man show with Roger McGough, and won the Critics' Award for Best Comedy and a Perrier Award nomination at the Edinburgh Festival with the Hangover Show.
His small-screen credits include BBC2's Country Tracks, Meridian TV's The Pier and Channel 4's Desperately Seeking Something, in which he was memorably buried alive in the Australian outback by a hippy called Graham.
