A TIRELESS campaigner who pushed for Worcester's southern link road bridge to be built is to have his name immortalised on a plaque.
Tomorrow, at an official ceremony at The Ketch, the bridge will be renamed the Carrington Bridge after ex-county council chairman Ron Carrington.
The decision to rename the stretch was made by the county council's cabinet last autumn after years of lobbying by Councillor Carrington's supporters.
Current chairman Bob Bullock will unveil a plaque on the bridge at noon.
The late Coun Carrington held the chairman's role from 1976 until 1982.
