FOUR hundred representatives of the Royal British Legion in Worcestershire are expected to take part in a special service and rally to mark the Jubilee in Worcester later this month.
The service, in Worcester Cathedral on Sunday, July 21, will be followed by a march through the city past the Guildhall where the salute will be taken by the Lord Lieutenant Michael Brinton.
Royal British Legion national president Lt Gen Sir Roderick
Cordy-Simpson will attend the service and rally, along with national vice-chairman John Hawthornthwaite and county president Brig Rolph James and Sir Michael Spicer MP.
"The service and rally is our contribution to the Jubilee celebrations, and we've been overwhelmed by the response," said Worcester chairman Ken Draper of Kidderminster.
"Everybody from cadets to Second World War veterans will be on parade, and with the standards being displayed it should be a colourful as well as moving event.
"It will be a fitting tribute to the Queen, who is patron of the Royal British Legion."
