A YOUNG Worcester artist hopes to bring a taste of continental caf culture to the city as her work goes on display.
Alice Malone is showing her paintings at Bevere Vivis Gallery after winning the Peter Spicer Young Artist Award, which recognises the most promising student in the final year of Worcester's Sixth Form College.
The 19-year-old, who wants to be a professional artist, will be displaying eight pieces of work at the gallery along the theme of continental cafs.
"I am nervous but looking forward to it," said the Barbourne teenager, who will display her art until Saturday, July 27.
"I am delighted to have won the competition and have the opportunity to display my work. Seven pieces will be for sale - apart from one, which will a present for my mum."
Gallery owner Kim Taylor said she was delighted to have the teenager's work on display.
"It's extremely good," she said.
