WORCESTERSHIRE are through to the quarter-finals of the Middleton Cup bowls competition following a 14-shot victory over Gloucestershire at Suffolk Square, Cheltenham.
The victory was Worcestershire's third in three group matches, and they will now play Devon in the last eight on July 20 at a venue to be fixed.
At five ends Worcestershire made an excellent start to lead by 17 shots only to see Gloucestershire hit back to hold a rampant Worcestershire side to just 18 shots at the 15th end.
In the closing stages Gloucestershire fought hard to main the pressure, Worcestershire eventually holding on for victory to take 14 points to Gloucestershire's two.
