A SPA school will be holding a sports day with a difference this year and it's all down to a visit to see a dance performance.
Students from Droitwich Spa High School, in Briar Mill, will be taking part in Irish dancing as part of their sports day following a trip to Birmingham's National Indoor Arena to see Riverdance.
The students will be trying out the dancing on the day and then they will perform against each other in a competitive style.
The dancing has become increasingly popular at the school and now one teacher, Eileen Crossey, has set up the Crossey School of Irish Dance where she teaches the youngsters once a week after school. Already the 20-strong female troupe have performed across the county at fetes and weddings.
Miss Crossey said: "Considering most of the dancers have no Irish background they are full of enthusiasm and some of them may well be the Riverdance stars of the future."
