A KIDDERMINSTER man has been acting "bizarrely" since he made an attack on his wife, his barrister told Worcester crown court.
On one occasion, 49-year-old Robert Waldron poured petrol over the living room carpet and threatened to set fire to their home, said Martin Butterworth.
Judge Andrew Geddes granted Mr Butterworth's request for a psychiatric report before Waldron is sentenced. Waldron, a fence erector, now living in Highfield Road, Cookley, was remanded on bail on condition he keeps away from the home of his wife Jeanette in Woodbury Road, Kidderminster.
He admitted unlawfully wounding her on Saturday, January 12. He denied an alternative charge of wounding with intent. This was accepted by the prosecution.
Mr Butterworth said Waldron was suffering from stress brought on by the proceedings. His wife was "clamouring" for him to be allowed home.
