AN old cottage in the grounds of Lilac Cottage, at Camp Lane, Shelsley Beauchamp, must be demolished, after planning permission for its partial removal was refused.
The original planning permission for a new cottage required the existing dwelling and outbuildings to be removed before the new one was occupied, but the owners then applied to keep part of the cottage as a workshop and store.
Planning officers advised this would increase the visual impact and be contrary to the local plan.
That view was upheld by the planning committee when it met this week.
