IT was game, set and match for pupils at Alcester Grammar School as they got mobile to improve their business skills and knowledge.
Last week, the students took part in a topical business simulation run by Warwickshire Education Business Partnership and a team of business facilitators from the area.
The students were asked to form their own mobile phone company and bid for the opportunity to supply phones to the players, officials and general public at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Each company was expected to appoint directors, create their own company identity, organise a marketing campaign, make final decisions and give a presentation.
Prizes were awarded for the best company, phone design and presentation.
During the task, students were given a basic insight into some of the complex aspects involved in running a business and benefited greatly from direct contact with businesspeople who helped them reach their targets.
