WIMBLEDON may have finished but there is still plenty of opportunity for youngsters to get out and play tennis this summer.
Bromsgrove District Council is aiming to set up a tennis development programme in the town as well as forge link with local tennis clubs.
With this in mind, the council has started a series of coaching courses in Sanders Park, off Kidderminster Road, where kids can learn the basic skills and techniques.
Courses are currently running every Thursday until July 18 in Sanders Park between 4pm and 4.45pm for five to seven-year-olds and from 4.45pm to 5.30pwm for eight to ten-year-olds.
Sports Development Officer for Bromsgrove District Council, Claire McCleanww, said: "We are trying to promote tennis and trying to link it with clubs.
"Hopefully, a lot more people will take up playing tennis."
Courses will also be available each Tuesday in the park during the summer holidays, starting on July 23 at £2 a session.
Anyone wanting to join either course can call Claire on 01527 881316.
