BROMSGROVE Golf Club's 17-24 handicap team reached the semi-finals of the Birmingham and District 17-24 Vale and Robinson Trophy last Sunday with the narrowest of victories over rivals Redditch Kingfishers.
Steve Hart's team reached the last four by virtue of a two-point winning margin after scoring 151 from two home and away pairs in a betterball stableford.
The team was helped to their 151 points by Phil Dawson and Bob Brehaut (43pts), Steve Hart and Barrie Claridge (32pts), Peter Rooke and Mike Thomas (41pts) and Steve Steventon and Jeff Rushton (35pts).
Bromsgrove now face either Hilltop Golf Club or Pype Hayes Golf Club for a place in the final.
Hart and Claridge were also victorious 24 hours earlier as the reached the last four of the Birmingham and District Chairman's Trophy with a four and three success against Cocks Moors Woods.
But Clive Nash and Peter Rooke were not quite so lucky as they lost by one hole to Harborne in the fourball betterball matchplay format.
