FORMULA 3 hopeful Stefan Hodgetts is attracting attention after an explosive drive at the weekend.
The Headless Cross ace finished 14th after a disastrous start to the weekend in qualifying and spoke to representatives from two of the watching F1 teams.
BAR technical director Dave Richards and Jordan director of race and test engineering Gary Anderson were among the interested parties after the youngster climbed eight places to finish 14th in a non-championship support race for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
But it was far from an easy ride for the young hopeful after his battery exploded minutes before his allocated 20 minutes of qualifying.
His Motorworld Class A car was put on emergency ignition and by the time the fault was corrected, Hodgetts only managed to squeeze in four qualifying laps to start 22nd on a 32 car grid.
After climbing the field, Hodgetts wants to complete the F3 series after financial problems dogged the Class B drive he was offered with Team Park F3.
His father Chris said Stefan was hoping to race the next round at Rockingham in a fortnight.
