SIMON Archer is targeting three gold medals after being called up to England's Commonwealth Games badminton squad.
The 29-year-old, who won gold at the 1998 Games in Kuala Lumpur, takes his place in a 14-strong squad bound for Manchester.
And the Worcester ace believes England are in a strong position to strike gold on home soil.
"I'm really looking forward to it and I certainly don't feel under any pressure," he said. "I'm competing in the men's doubles, mixed doubles and team event so there is a possibility of three gold medals.
"India and Malaysia will provide the toughest competition but the team is very confident."
Archer will again team up with Jo Goode, with whom he won an Olympic bronze medal two years ago in Australia, in the mixed doubles and partners James Anderson in the men's event.
After recovering from a knee tendon injury, Archer says he is firing on all cylinders ahead of the Manchester showpiece event.
"I'm feeling good," he added. "I've actually got more mobility now and am probably a lot less one-dimensional. The knee is holding up well, it's not a problem."
