YOUNG Bromsgrove children breathed life into bygone skills when they took lessons at Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings.
Pupils from Catshill Middle School were among those from five schools which took part in a ten-week course at the Stoke Heath tourist attraction.
Twenty-four students aged 11 and 12 studied early technology skills such as writing with quill and ink, pole lathing and the wattle and daub house building technique.
They put their new found talents to the test at an open day in the museum's Merchant House in June.
Nicki Anslow, a teacher at the Meadow Road school, said: "The open day was a great success.
"The children dressed up in Tudor clothes and gave demonstrations to the public.
"We are very grateful to Avoncroft Museum for this fantastic opportunity."
