FECKENHAM could go top at the weekend with a win in their top of the table clash against leaders Evesham.
The Mill Lane side beat lowly Martley by 12 runs at the weekend and sit 13 points behind the leaders ahead of Saturday's home clash (2pm start).
The weekend result was the perfect fillip after Feckenham came up against one First Division side too many in the Worcestershire County League Knockout Cup final.
After eliminating Droitwich and neighbours Astwood Bank in earlier rounds, the villagers proved they can mix it a division higher but Netherton proved too strong at Kidderminster.
Needing only 24 to win off 30 balls, former county cup winners Feckenham fell two short in a dramatic finish.
But in the league results went the Millers' way in a promising weekend with second placed Stourport beating Evesham by 47 runs and the four sides immediately below Feckenham failing to win.
Only 20 points separate the top five sides and with two sides promoted there is everything to play for.
Andy Fletcher's side need only to better the leaders by 14 points to swap places with them and Fletcher will be hoping Stourport slip up.
The captain's fears about relegation seem ill-founded with the villagers 48 points clear of the drop zone.
