WYTHALL kept up the pressure on league leaders Arden Forest with a comprehensive win over basement boys Corley at the weekend.
The Warwickshire League Division Four West leaders picked up 20 points in a win over Marconi but Wythall narrowed the gap by four points after batting first in their fixture.
And Martin Priest's side can take over as league leaders at the weekend if they can get maximum points at home to Marconi on Saturday (2pm start).
With only one team promoted to Division Three, Priest will be hoping Arden Forest slip up at mid-table Oakfield at the weekend.
Third placed Haunchwood stayed 41 points behind Wythall despite a 24 point haul against Wolvey.
Wythall openers Tom Scott (62) and Nick Tongue (40) put on 104 for the first wicket to set the Silver Street side on the way to a 241-8 total. Corley reached 60 for three in reply but slow bowlers Jeff Hussey and Dave Perks blitzed them with six wickets in 20 balls as Hussey finished with three for 13 and his partner took three for 14.
The victory came at a price with the loss of opener Tongue with a fractured finger.
He was set to see a plastic surgeon on Monday but looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
