A WIN over Barnards Green at the weekend kept Alvechurch in the Worcester Three promotion hunt.
Nick Jones' side are aiming for the second promotion spot behind runaway leaders Hereford City and boosted their cause with what proved to be a straightforward win.
Defeat left Barnards Green 19 points behind Church in third and the rest of the weekend's results went perfectly for Jones' men.
Fourth place Belbroughton lost by six wickets to Victoria and Blakeley and fifth placed Highley suffered a losing draw against Hereford.
Fellow promotion hopefuls Barnards Green were restricted to 153 for eight as Neil Guy and Darren Reck claimed hat-tricks and Reck reached the 35 wicket mark from ten matches.
The Birmingham Road side knocked them off for six with a dozen overs to spare but the captain warned against complacency at an unpredictable Highley on Saturday (2pm start).
Left handed bat James Lavender is unavailable on Saturday and Nev Rudge is on standby to step up from the reserves.
