THE debt-ridden Redditch Council for Voluntary Service (RCVS) is to be wound up.
At a meeting last week, members of the charity, which owed £50,000. agreed the move.
They had been waiting since May to see if a further £5,000 could be found to pay for an independent report on the financial situation.
But at Thursday's meeting RCVS chairman Robert Rainbow said no money had been forthcoming.
He said: "The loss of the RCVS is very hard."
Brian Cove of the Wolverhampton Council for Voluntary Service said: "The situation is that RCVS has stopped trading.
"There is no future for this organisation.
"The Charity Commission has been informed of the situation and has accepted it.
"It's a very sad occasion as it was going very well."
