STUDLEY parish councillors are urging a rethink of plans for the village's new Pioneer store after the current proposal raised eyebrows among members.
The council has submitted a list of suggestions to the Co-operative Group, which wants to demolish the Pioneer in Alcester Road and replace it with one half the size.
Councillors' main worry is what will happen to the rest of the site once the store is built.
The Co-op wants to sell the land for development but parish councillors are keen to see it used for retail or employment use.
They are also worried that if the building is constructed to the present design, problems could result with nuisance youths at the back of the store and they have asked for that area to be redesigned.
Stratford Council planning officer Les Greenwood said the Highways Agency had also raised concerns about access to the new store from Alcester Road.
He said the Co-op was now amending its plans to take into account the consultation and the application would not be considered until August or September at the earliest.
