FREEfalling from 12,000ft might not sound like most people's idea of a good time but for one mum, it was the perfect opportunity.

Ruth 'Daredevil' Hinks, from May Lane, in Hollywood, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1996 and to celebrate her 30th birthday, she took to the skies in a tandem parachute jump, raising more than £1,000 for the MS Society.

Mrs Hinks leapt out of the plane at 12,000ft at the Hinton Skydiving Centre in Northants.

She plummeted back to earth travelling at 120mph up to 5,000ft, when the parachute opened and she floated to the drop zone.

Mrs Hinks' thoughts have now turned to the next big event.
