PUPILS at a Worcester primary school are showcasing their new musical venture with a summer concert.
Musicians at Dines Green Primary School have produced a CD entitled Sun on the Green, involving a variety of tunes and musical genre.
Last night the pupils played to their friends and families in a special one-off performance.
"It's been a great boost to the school in terms of the musicians," said Elspeth Walton, from the instrumental music service, who teaches at the school.
"The steel band must be one of the best in all of the county's junior schools. I'm very proud of them all."
The CD, which is available through the school by donation, has seven tracks, including the calypso tune Yellow Bird and Beethoven's Ode To Joy. It was recorded in the school with the help of the headteacher's daughter.
"We did it in May with just one take. They're all pleased with it," said Ms Walton.
The musicians play the recorder, steel drums, guitars and trumpets among others. They are all aged between eight and 11.
