SERVICE users at Worcestershire County Council's Three Springs day centre in Pershore are starring in a drama exhibition that helps them understand the importance of communication and how to handle everyday situations tomorrow (Friday).
The centre provides day opportunities through leisure, recreational and educational activities, both within the unit and the local community.
Social Services is working in partnership with registered charity Number 8 and Worcester-based theatre company C & T to put together the drama exhibition.
Karina Palmer, Three Springs day centre manager, said: "We felt a project of this nature could increase service users; confidence and self-esteem, promote their communication and social skills, allow users to explore their imagination and develop spontaneity. We hoped it would also be enjoyable an fun for all involved."
She added: The experience also allowed staff to develop existing skills and it gave them the enthusiasm and knowledge to continue to use drama as a tool within the unit."
Charlotte Saunders, arts liaison officer for Number 8, said: "We aim to improve the quality of life for everyone, but particularly those disadvantaged in our community."
