VANDALISM and wear and tear, is taking its toll on Alcester's much- used skate park.
District leisure providers Avon Leisure recommended town councillors enlist the manufacturers of the park's equipment, Clever Curves, to inspect the park and provide a quote for repairs.
The company pointed out work which needed to be carried out immediately for safety, and highlighted potential problems from other defects.
The inspection revealed the surface of the ramp needed fixing into place, platform sections were worn, slats on the safety rail needed repairing or replacing, repainting was needed and several steel corner caps were missing.
The repairs look set to cost the town council at least £1,600.
Although councillors agreed the work was needed, there was concern some repairs were prompted by vandalism.
