MARTIAL ARTS: A fitness instructor is aiming for European honours after retaining a British title in Nottingham.
Drew Neal beat international stars Cory Cain and Peter Edwards to win the World Amateur Kickboxing Organisation senior adults U-79kgs trophy.
The Kidderminster 22-year-old is now off to Greece in November to compete for Great Britain in the WAKO European Championships.
Neal, who works at Waves Health and Leisure Club, Stourport, trains with Jason Charlesworth's club in Halesowen.
Charlesworth said: "Drew has brought something a little bit special to the club.
"He stands a good chance of coming back from Greece with a gold medal."
Neal, who used to train in Kidderminster, has been in fine form lately, including a National Cimac Super League final success.
He has also used his 17 years of kickboxing experience to help with coaching, guiding Charlesworth's wife Julie to British honours.
