CYCLING: A Kidderminster worker blazed a trail in the West Midlands Track Championships.
Richard Deeley, normally a road racer, scooped second in the individual 4,000m pursuit and third in the 20km points race.
The 23-year-old, who works for Fixings and Ironmongery in the town, was delighted with his display at Wolverhampton's Aldersley Stadium.
Deeley will figure at the National Hill Climb in Cheshire in October.
