A KIDDERMINSTER man has been acting "bizarrely" since he attacked his wife, his barrister told Worcester Crown Court.
On one occasion, Robert Waldron, 49, poured petrol over the living room carpet and threatened to set fire to their home.
Judge Andrew Geddes granted a request for a psychiatric report before Waldron is sentenced.
Waldron, now living in Highfield Road, Cookley, was remanded on bail on condition he keeps away from the Kidderminster home of his wife.
He pleaded guilty to unlawfully wounding her on January 12.
Pardeep Tiwana, prosecuting, said Waldron accepted using a knife and causing cuts to his wife's throat. She had made a complaint but now did not want to give evidence against her husband.
Mr Butterworth said Waldron was suffering from stress brought on by the proceedings. His wife was "clamouring" for him to be allowed home.
