FOUR members of one family are attempting to operate Hampton Ferry at Evesham for 48 hours non-stop to raise money for charity.
The mayor, Councillor Diana Raphael, who has been associated with the ferry all her life, will make the first pull on Friday, August 23, then Philip Royle, Keith Smith, Trevor Keen and Ian Dee will take over the next two days.
Mr Royle said: "I do something for charity every year - last year I did a 124-hour ferry pull on my own - with half the money going to the Air Ambulance and the other half to another nominated charity.
"I have a niece with ME and so half the money we raise this year will go the Association for Young people with ME."
Other attractions during the weekend include a bouncy castle for children, tombola and the event will be rounded off by an outdoor disco on the evening of Sunday, August 25.
Midway Plant Hire is providing the lighting for the pull to go on overnight and anyone else able to provide sponsorship can ring Philip Royle on 07816 562817.
