The highlight of the July meeting, in the village hall, was a demonstration of sugarcraft by Janet Morgan, who created a magnolia, and Annette Gulliver, who made a lifelike teddy.
The ladies began their craft 14 years ago as a hobby, and after many college courses and much practice they are now producing celebration cakes of all kinds.
The draw for the Denman Bursary took place, the winner being Jo Powick, who has yet to choose her weekend away.
Members were urged to support the village fete on Saturday, August 17, by making cakes.
Joyce Rowthorn will organise a skittles evening and supper during September.
There is no meeting in August, so the next meeting will be on Wednesday, September 4.
