For the summer outing, members and friends visited Stokesay Castle and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre.
At the first of two June meetings, John Marshall described his visit to Iceland, illustrating his talk with slides.
They included pictures from a coach journey around the island, showing houses with grass-covered roofs, waterfalls and rock formations in a "lunar" landscape.
There were also pictures of the steam geysers used for power production, and the massive ice cap.
On June 19 Chris Hogg of the Hamstead Brewing Centre at Great Barr, Birmingham, described wine, produced from imported grape juice, and cider made from home-grown apples.
Members were then able to sample some of the products.
