To coincide with national Freemasonry in the Community week, freemasons from the Lodge of Hope and Charity, Kidderminster, presented a cheque for £2,001 to the Friends of St Mary's and All Saints, Kidderminster, at Evensong in the Whittall Chapel for repairs to the west window of the church.
The lodge has been meeting in Kidderminster for almost 180 years and has a long association with the church.
In 1882 chimes were presented to the church by freemasons from the lodge, and in 1918 chimes were paid for by Matthew Whittall, who had emigrated to America.
The foundation stone for the Whittall Chapel was laid in 1921, when the lodge was opened in the chantry and 156 freemasons took part in the ceremony.
A cheque for £500 was also presented to the Acorn Trust, along with donations to many charities by masonic lodges from Kidderminster and Stourport, totalling more than £4,000.
