THE sky above Elmley Castle was filled with balloons when the village first school held its annual fete.
The balloon race was just one of many events held at the fete, which took place last Saturday.
Pupils at the school also showed what they could do in a talent contest, with entrants singing, telling jokes and dancing. This followed after the usual fete fare of welly wanging and egg throwing.
PTA member Mrs Sally Davis, said the event was a great way to round off the first year of the school's new headmaster, Mr Martin Walley.
She also said that funds raised from the fete would go towards refurbishing the schoolhouse to provide a music room and a food technology department.
She added: "We had a great turnout from the people in the village and all the children were so good in the talent contest, that they all received a prize."
