A BBC team of builders has brightened up the life of a Worcestershire family by turning their garage into a playroom.
The team from DIY SOS finished off a job Jan Carne had started for her two boys, Christopher, 14, and Michael, 10.
The task had proven too much for Jan, so Michael wrote a letter to the BBC asking for them to come and help at their home at Hughes Close, Harvington, near Evesham.
The project as voted by the public as one of the most deserving and presenter Lowri Turner and her team completed the task in just 12 hours.
Millions saw the boys beaming with delight when the show was broadcast on Thursday, July 4.
"The boys were really excited," said Jan. "They loved seeing themselves on TV and they've recorded it to watch it over again."
The builders lined the walls, put in a new floor and windows and made space for a freezer and washing machine in a job estimated to have cost around £4,000.
The BBC team also left behind Harry Potter friezes and motifs for Christopher, who has Downs Syndrome.
"They spent a lot of time on making it just right," said Jan. "It must be the best room in the house now."
