1802: At the Worcester County Quarter Sessions this week, Thomas Price, convicted of felony, and Thomas Smith for stealing nine fowls and a turkey cock were each sentenced to the transported for seven years, while Joseph Attwood for stealing a hen was sent to three months hard labour.
Miss Swift, daughter of the late Rev James Swift, having been several years in France to finish her education, since which she has constantly had care of young ladies, intends to open a boarding school in an airy and pleasant property in College Yard, Worcester. Mrs Mary Ann Thomas (63) of Quay Street, Worcester fell off a dray she was driving when turning out of Back Lane into the Moors. She fractured her thigh and was removed to the Infirmary and detained.
W. Dougety (50) met with rather a serious accident at the works of Messrs McKenzie and Holland when sharpening a saw. He severed a main artery and, had it not been for the prompt action of Mr W.Bradburn and the knowledge gained by him through the St John Ambulance Association, Dougety would probably have bled to death. Mr Bradburn immediately applied a torniquet and stopped the flow of blood, and Dougety was removed to the Infirmary.

A war memorial to the men of the parish who gave their lives in the Second World War was unveiled in Hallow Church by the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Admiral Sir William Tennant. The eight names on the tablet are L/Cpl George Milward Collins, L/Cpl Ronald Harris, Flt. Sgt Harold Hunt, Marine Wilfred Munslow, Sgt Eric William Tyler, CMS Harold Webb, Sgt Richard Whiley and Pte Royston Williams.
